Bhyubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik visited Balangir and Kalahandi districts on Thursday to lay the foundation stones of 17 development projects including a mega irrigation project at Junagarh in Kalahandi district.
In his visit to Balangir, Patnaik inaugurated a Rs 13.26 crore Lift Irrigation Project to irrigate 780 hectare land alongwith inaugurating 100 seated ST girls hostel at Jamuta Government High School in Gudvella.
A 33/11 KV Grid Sub Station for quality and uninterrupted power supply was also inaugurated by him at Gudvella.
100 seater ST girls’ hostel at Sikalapadar Sevasram and a Mini Stadium at Titlagarh to encourage sports amongst youth was inaugurated by Patnaik.
To benefit 22,000 villagers in three gram panchayats, Patnaik inaugurated a bridge over Lantha River connecting Saintala and Badipada.
Patnaik also inaugurated Rs 11.92 crore flood protection embankment on left of River Tel from Belgaon to Ambapalli to benefit 50,000 people alongwith a mega drinking water project at Belgaon to benefit 20000 people in 26 villages.
Further Patnaik inaugurated a Mini Stadium at Tushara to encourage sports amongst youth.
Among various other programmes the Chief Minister unveiled plaque of lift irrigation projects at Junagarh in Kalahandi district and inaugurated the project.
